Fountain of Youth Qi offers the following programs:
Generally, each training or practice session of Eight Silk Brocade includes the following components:
1. A gentle warm-up along with breathing guidelines to wake the body
2. A short standing meditation to quieten the mind
3. A guided sequencing of the poses comprising Eight Silk Brocade
4. A moderate cool-down to savour the energy flowing through the body
5. A short contemplation of the peace and harmony within

Instruction and Practice:
o Prerequisites: None
o A once-a-week, 60-minute session where the basic eight poses of Eight Silk Brocade are practiced with guided instruction and
feedback
o The purpose of these sessions is to strengthen the body, increase flexibility and improve balance
o Prerequisites: None
o A once-a-week, 60-minute session where the basic eight poses of Eight Silk Brocade are practiced with guided instruction and
feedback
o The purpose of these sessions is to strengthen the body, increase flexibility and improve balance
Lunch-and-Learn-and-Stretch:
o Prerequisites: None
o A special program designed to address the stress caused by ‘desk-bound work’
o A 30-minute session where the basic eight poses of Eight Silk Brocade are practiced with simple-to-follow instruction.
o The sessions are designed for all ages and fitness levels
o There is no restriction on what to wear, however, loose comfortable clothing and flat-heel shoes (or bare feet) are recommended.
o The purpose of the practice is to re-vitalize the body by stretching and by improving blood/Qi circulation
o The sessions are conducted at employers’ facilities
o Prerequisites: None

comprising Eight Silk Brocade.
o Each pose is emphasised for two weeks
o The purpose of the course is to learn the body movements for each of the eight poses
o Prerequisites: None
o A 16-week guided program (a 90-minute session per week) that teaches the body movements associated with the poses
comprising Eight Silk Brocade.

Intermediate Course - Breath:
o Prerequisites: completion of the Eight Silk Brocade - Beginner course
o A 16-week guided program (a 90-minute session per week) that teaches the body movements and breathing techniques
associated with the poses comprising Eight Silk Brocade.
o Each pose is emphasised for two weeks
o The purpose of the course is to master the body movements with the appropriate breathing technique for each of the eight poses
o Prerequisites: completion of the Eight Silk Brocade - Beginner course
o A 16-week guided program (a 90-minute session per week) that teaches the body movements and breathing techniques
associated with the poses comprising Eight Silk Brocade.
o Each pose is emphasised for two weeks
o The purpose of the course is to master the body movements with the appropriate breathing technique for each of the eight poses
Advanced Course – Mind and Consciousness:
o Prerequisites: completion of the Eight Silk Brocade – Beginner and Intermediate courses
o A 16-week guided program (a 90-minute session per week) that teaches the integration of body movements and breathing
techniques associated with the poses comprising Eight Silk Brocade with the mind to achieve a level of fluidity and total relaxation
of body, mind and spirit .
o Each integrated pose is emphasised for two weeks
o The purpose of the course is to strive for total harmony between the body, mind and spirit.
o Prerequisites: completion of the Eight Silk Brocade – Beginner and Intermediate courses
o A 16-week guided program (a 90-minute session per week) that teaches the integration of body movements and breathing
techniques associated with the poses comprising Eight Silk Brocade with the mind to achieve a level of fluidity and total relaxation
of body, mind and spirit .
o Each integrated pose is emphasised for two weeks
o The purpose of the course is to strive for total harmony between the body, mind and spirit.
